PPC Wings dominate the first UKWA Slalom event
Share
What a weekend of racing. In the first of the UK Windsurfing wingfoil slalom series PPC Wings dominated the proceedings: 1st , 2nd and 4th overall.
Oscar Dempsey dominated the whole weekend, Saturday had very light winds and he was riding the M1-L 6.0.
On Sunday the wind picked up, gradually building to 20knots. Oscar lead the rest of the pack with at least 1/4 lead to the marks, riding the new M1-R race wing. A true talent in the making.
In 2nd place was @rod.foils who put in a blistering performance, despite the 47 year age gap between 1st an 2nd. Rod was using the Standard M-1 wing 6.0 with tonnes of low end pull and gust control to cope with the gusty conditions. Oscar at 47kgs was holding down the 5.5 M1-R wing down with total control was impressive.
Will Spinner had a tough day on Saturday due to wrong size choice and hitting a lobster pot on the course. Nonetheless a solid performance that can be improved on and one guy to watch in the future.
Fin Bernie Borrowing a PPC 6.0 M1-L for the first time managed an impressive 4th place.
