On June 17th 2025 Richard Hobson smashed the British speed wingfoil record at the prince of Speed event in La Palme France.

Clocking an incredible 30.84 knots average over 500 meters. 

Conditions at La Palme were far from Ideal with a two-week wait in 35 degrees heat for the required offshore wind. And when the wind came it was 40 to 50 knots. 

Richard was using a 4 meter M1-R. The powerful semi-dual skin PPC wing. Paired with his Mikeslab 290 sq cm foil and kitted out with an ion impact vest, wetsuit and harness.
